Putter Fitting & L.A.B. Golf Putter Fitting

A good putter fitting starts with your current putter, your setup and your ability to aim the face and start the ball on line. If your putter can be adjusted, I will tell you. If a new L.A.B. Golf putter makes more sense, I will explain why.

✓ Current putter checked first ✓ Lie-angle adjustment included when possible ✓ Certified L.A.B. Golf fitter ✓ Private one-on-one studio session
Two Honest Putter Fitting Paths

First, let’s find out whether your current putter can work better.

A good putter can still be the wrong length, lie, loft or grip for the way you set up. It can also sit poorly at address or aim differently than it looks to your eyes.

I provide private putter fitting in Escondido near San Marcos for golfers who want their current putter checked first, their setup evaluated, and a clear recommendation before buying anything new.

I start by evaluating your current putter and your putting setup. If your current putter can be adjusted, that may be the best answer. If a new putter truly makes sense, I’ll fit you for the right putter based on the real data I just collected.

That keeps the process honest: improve what you already own when that is the smartest play, and move into a properly fit putter only when the evidence points us in that direction.

What To Expect

What happens during a private putter fitting?

The session focuses on how you actually set up, aim, start the ball and control the face — not on pushing one putter model.

1

Review your current putter

I look at what you play now, what you like, what you fight and whether your current specs are giving you a fair chance.

2

Check setup and posture

Length, arm hang, hand position, eye line, lie angle and comfort all affect whether the putter sits correctly.

3

Evaluate aim and start line

Head shape, offset, alignment, loft, lie and setup can all influence whether the face points where you think it does.

4

Test better-fit changes

When needed, I compare setup changes, grips, length, lie angle and L.A.B. Golf options against your current putter. If your putter can be safely adjusted to the correct lie angle, I include that adjustment with the fitting.

5

Leave with a clear plan

You leave knowing whether to keep your putter, adjust it, change setup, or move into a better-fit L.A.B. Golf model.

Included With Your Putter Fitting
01

One fitting fee. No lie-angle upcharge.

When your current putter can be safely adjusted, I include the lie-angle adjustment at no additional charge. You pay one fitting fee. I do not turn that adjustment into a separate upsell.

02

“Line is fractionally more important than speed.”

Speed is critical, but great putting has to be learned in order: read the green, start the ball on your intended line, then master distance control.

My Putting Philosophy

Great putting is built in the right order.

A great putter is not just someone with a good stroke. Great putting is built by learning to read the green, start the ball on the intended line and then control distance.

01

Read the Green

Understand the slope, speed, grain, entry point and what the putt is asking the ball to do.

02

Start It on Line

Once you choose the line, the putter has to help you aim the face and start the ball where you intend.

03

Control the Distance

After you can read the putt and start it on line, distance control becomes much easier to train and trust.

It is very hard to become a consistently good putter with a putter that does not fit you.

A perfectly fit putter will not read the green or make the stroke for you, but it should support your setup, aim, face control, start line and confidence.

L.A.B. Golf Putter Fitting

New-putter fittings currently focus on L.A.B. Golf — only when it is the right answer.

L.A.B. stands for Lie Angle Balance. The fitting is not about selling a head shape first. It is about whether the technology, lie angle, length, grip, setup and look actually help you aim better and manage the face more consistently.

I may add one or two additional putter brands later. For now, new-putter fittings are currently built around L.A.B. Golf, while current-putter evaluation and adjustment remains available for any putter you already own.

01

Grip and Posture First

How you hold the putter and stand to the ball affects face angle, shaft angle, arm hang, eye position and stroke shape.

02

Length and Lie Angle

Length and lie must match your setup. With L.A.B. Golf, lie angle is especially important because the putter is built around that fit.

03

Aim and Start Line

Different shapes and alignment features can make the face look open, closed or square depending on your eyes.

04

Stroke and Face Control

I check whether the putter supports your natural motion or makes face control harder than it needs to be.

05

Model, Grip and Shaft

Model choice comes after setup, aim, stroke, feel and lie angle are understood.

06

Clear Plan

You leave knowing whether to keep your putter, adjust it, or move into a properly fit L.A.B. Golf putter.

L.A.B. Golf Model Direction

The model is chosen after the fit, not before it.

VZN, Link, OZ, DF3 and DF 2.1 shapes can all make sense for different golfers. The goal is to match the right putter to your setup, lie angle, length, grip, head weight, aim tendency and visual comfort.

01

Visual Comfort

Some golfers aim better with a strong visual frame; others aim better with a cleaner shape.

02

Traditional vs. Modern Look

Link, OZ, VZN, DF3 and DF 2.1 options are discussed based on what helps you set the face and feel confident.

03

Lie Angle and Length

The build has to match your posture, arm hang, eye line and how the putter sits at address.

04

Grip and Shaft Direction

Grip size, shaft choice and feel are matched to hand comfort, face control and stroke stability.

05

Head Weight and Balance

The putter should feel stable without making the stroke stiff, forced or hard to control.

06

Compare to Your Putter

The recommendation is tested against your current putter so the next step is clear.

Who This Helps

Who benefits from a putter fitting?

You do not need to be a scratch golfer. You only need to care about aiming the face better, starting the ball on line more often and understanding whether your putter is helping or hurting you.

Golfers Missing Short Putts

Many short misses come from aim, setup, face control, lie angle, stroke tension or confidence issues.

Players Buying a New Putter

Before spending money, make sure the length, lie, head style, alignment, grip and feel actually match you.

L.A.B. Golf Interest

If you are curious about L.A.B. Golf, the fitting helps determine whether the design and model direction truly fit your stroke.

Junior Golfers

Growing juniors often need putter length, posture, setup and aim checked more often because their bodies and equipment needs change.

Private-Club Golfers

Golfers from Rancho Santa Fe, Rancho Bernardo, Del Mar, Carlsbad and North County clubs get focused, unrushed answers.

Current Putter Check

If your current putter is close, I may recommend adjustments or setup changes instead of a replacement.

Private Studio Evaluation

Clear feedback without the rushed retail fitting feel.

A putter fitting should be calm, specific and easy to understand. I explain what I see, why it matters and which changes are worth making.

Current putter help first. New L.A.B. Golf fitting when it makes sense.

The best putter fitting does not start with a sales pitch. I first evaluate your setup, stroke and current putter. Then I explain whether adjustments are enough or whether a new L.A.B. Golf putter should be considered.

Putter Fitting FAQ

Questions about putter fitting and L.A.B. Golf putters.

These answers explain how Perfectly Fit Golf evaluates your current putter, your setup and your stroke before recommending an adjustment or a new L.A.B. Golf putter.

Do I need a putter fitting if I already own a good putter?

Yes. A good putter still has to fit your posture, aim, stroke, length, lie, loft and grip. Sometimes the best answer is adjusting your current putter.

Do you fit L.A.B. Golf putters?

Yes. For new putter purchases, Perfectly Fit Golf currently fits L.A.B. Golf. Select additional putter brands may be added later.

How do you choose the right L.A.B. Golf model?

I start with your setup, aim tendency, stroke, visual comfort, length, lie, grip, shaft feel and head-weight needs. The model comes after the fit, not before it.

Can my current putter be adjusted instead of replaced?

Yes. I can evaluate your current putter and make loft, lie, length and grip recommendations when those adjustments make sense. If your current putter can be safely adjusted to the correct lie angle, I include that lie-angle adjustment at no additional charge with the fitting.

What does L.A.B. Golf stand for?

L.A.B. stands for Lie Angle Balance. The goal is to reduce torque and help the putter stay more stable when it is fit correctly.

Will I get a putting lesson during the fitting?

Most putter fittings include some putting instruction because grip, posture, arm hang, eye line and setup can change the putter recommendation.

What should I bring to a putter fitting?

Bring your current putter and any putters you are comparing. I will use those as the baseline before recommending any adjustment or new putter direction.

Why do you say line is fractionally more important than speed?

If a putt starts too far off line, perfect speed cannot save it. Speed still matters, but a putter that helps the golfer aim and start the ball on line is extremely important.

What does a perfectly fit putter help with?

A properly fit putter can help with setup comfort, aim, start line, face control, roll quality, distance control and confidence over short putts.

Do you offer putter fitting near me in San Diego County?

Perfectly Fit Golf is located in Escondido near San Marcos and serves golfers from North County San Diego, Rancho Bernardo, Rancho Santa Fe, Carlsbad, Encinitas, Poway, Fallbrook and Temecula.

Do golfers travel to you from outside North County?

Yes. Some golfers travel from other parts of San Diego County, Riverside County, Orange County and Palm Springs when they want a private L.A.B. Golf putter fitting and clear explanation.
